My mother started a new medication to stave off Alzheimer’s disease, but she can’t remember to take it twice a day. We both found this funny.
Yesterday, I once again found myself at the grocery checkout while my reusable bags were in the car.
Somehow, not so funny.

Julie, I’m sorry to hear of your mom’s diagnosis. I can relate, however, to the reusable bags part – I constantly forget mine in my car, too. And even though I see them on display in the store I STILL don’t remember until I’m in the middle of checkout. Doh!
Julie, your mom’s situation is a difficult one. I guess you could call her twice a day and have her take the medication while she’s on the phone with you. But there really should be a better solution like the long-acting pills they make for osteoperosis.
As for the bags, I do the same thing — OFTEN! This forgetfulness triggers a green-guilt that forces me to carry a bunch of loose groceries, dropping them as I make my way to the car. There’s got to be a better way!
Hey, if we couldn’t laugh… Judy, that is hysterical that you try to carry loose items to your car!
