Holy Kohlrabi! I’m a Locavore!

This, my friends, is kohlrabi. It’s a vegetable that before this summer I had never tasted. I wouldn’t have even known how to prepare it. The same could be said for Swiss chard, fava beans and patty pan squash. But luckily I now enjoy these and many other veggies freshly picked from the ground. Did I plant a garden you ask? No, I joined a Community Support Agriculture program. I’m becoming a “locavore.” (FYI, this was Oxford American Dictionary’s 207 Word of the Year.) Continue reading
