Here’s the thing I’m realizing about going with the flow instead of pursuing a focused goal: It doesn’t mean the journey is going to be any less crazy. (I know: Thank you, Mr. Obvious.)
I’ve been operating under the mistaken assumption that going with the flow would be like floating down this strong, steady river, curving gently here and there as the geography necessitated, while I trusted the path. But trusting nature’s path means accepting that the flow is not always going to take me on a gentle float. Sometimes it’s going to be a wild ride down a white-water canyon.
