Thanks, Cindy, for asking about Lucy. I suspect your query was just as much to coax me back to blogging after my vacation as it was concern for the dog, and I thank you for that, too. I did not take Lucy on vacation. She seemed to weather the separation just fine — in fact, better than Wilson, who chewed our dining room chairs and was too lazy (or maybe scared) to go out the dog door at night to poop! As for her emotional festering due to Wilson, Instead of sending Wilson away, I’ve been doting on Lucy a ton and she seems happier. Her intestinal issues have calmed quite a bit, but now her skin is a mess: rashes, hot spots. The vet wants me to apply Burrows Solution, a product supposedly availalbe in drug stores but which I can’t find anywhere. Ugh. Nothing is easy.

But more than that, poor you!! It’s got to be a trial managing these two dogs and the rest of your life. I know the dogs bring you a lot of joy, so it all balances out.
